Recreational Equipment, Inc. (REI)

At the beginning of an REI catalog cycle, the company needed product samples evaluated for color. In the past, these samples were shipped to Imagine to provide accurate color evaluation and CMYK value. Boxes of samples had to be sent several times a year, which was inconvenient and time-consuming for REI. The company was looking for a solution to avoid the logistics of transporting samples for each catalog.

Imagine provided REI with a spectrophotometer to read materials and produce a CMYK value for color correction. The portability of this unit meant we could take it to the REI office before the start of each catalog cycle, go through the samples, and get the color information needed. The color values from the spectrophotometer were then saved in a specific location on a hard drive until REI's color correction phase began.

Employing the spectrophotometer not only saved REI money and time, it decreased the workload of their shipping department.
